Rotary Club of St. Louis – Club 11 Presidential Telegram

I try to read ROTARY (formerly known as The Rotarian) each month. All Rotarians should be getting this delivered to the address listed on our database, DACDB. The monthly magazine offers some interesting and informative information. In addition to the President’s Message this month features 3 feature articles: In our Nature, A history of vaccination, Launch & Learn. In addition, each month they have sections: Connect (letters from Rotarians), Our World (things going on in the Rotary World) and Our Clubs (projects, fundraisers and other information about specific club). This month they also have an article out Starting a new Rotary Club.

Finally, they have Service Above Self; The Object of Rotary, The Four-Way Test and the Rotarian Code of Conduct.

If you are not getting the ROTARY magazine, let our office know and we can make sure your address is correct in the Database.

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

BE PROUD TO BE A ROTARIAN

ESPECIALLY A ROTARIAN IN THE ROTARY CLUB OF ST. LOUIS

Being a Rotarian means serving your community, networking, making friends, and building international relationships. Through ‪Rotary, you have the opportunity to expand your leadership skills and achieve your goals.

As we come out of the COVID 19 this year, let’s try to work adding to our membership. If everyone just asks one close friend or business associate, we will be able to grow in 2021.

Pass on information about our club and about Rotary to your friends, send the Pepperbox to them, Like and Share on Social Media. We really do have a great club, let’s not be afraid to tell the WORLD.

We were fortunate to have Juliane Wolf as our speaker on Thursday for Rotary Architects Day. Juliane joined us via Zoom and gave us a thorough history of the architecture on the new “100 Above the Park building located on the western part of the Central West End. This is a spectacular building designed by an internationally known design group, Studio Gang in Chicago. This is a wonderful addition to St. Louis and we all agreed that hopefully they can come back for another Building at a later date.

This Thursday we have Ron Jacober and Bob Tiemann joining us. They have collaborated on a new book, Immortal Memories in Cardinal History. For more than a century, the St. Louis Cardinals have given their fans a long succession of glorious memories and milestones. The book Immortal Moments in Cardinal History looks back at the 100 greatest moments in franchise history, from the forgotten victories of four consecutive pennant winners in the 1880s right through the 2013 National League Championship.

If you missed last week’s meeting or any meeting you can watch the recording of the zoom presentation by clicking on the link in the Pepperbox or the Club 11 Website. Blog (rotarystlouis.org)

We are continuing to work to make the zoom presentations better every week. Please let Joan know if you have and suggestions and she will pass them on to the MAC who is handling the production of the video.

ZOOM BROADCAST WILL CONTINUE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE FOR THOSE THAT CANNOT MAKE THE MEETINGS IN PERSON.
