BE PROUD TO BE A ROTARIAN

ESPECIALLY A ROTARIAN IN THE ROTARY CLUB OF ST. LOUIS

As we continue with what has been an outstanding Rotary Year, let us remember to check in with Rotarians we haven’t seen or talked to in a while. Give a call and reach out to another Rotarian just to say hi or better yet invite them back to a meeting. I believe this Club is stronger than ever as we come out of the pandemic. Talk up our Club as you see friends out in the community and as always BE PROUD TO BE A ROTARIAN, ESPECIALLY IN THE ROTARY CLUB OF ST. LOUIS.

Being a Rotarian means serving your community, networking, making friends, and building international relationships. Through Rotary, you have the opportunity to expand your leadership skills and achieve your goals. Get involved in a committee, sit with someone different every week, when ask to serve on as a Board position treat it as a special invitation to not only serve but also enlighten yourself. You will find you will gain much more personally than you can only dream of.

Last Thursday we were honored to be able to tour The Foundry. This is a Redevelopment in the Mid-Town area that will bring a new office and entertainment area to one of the most growing areas of the St. Louis area. After a very nice lunch at one of the buildings in the Foundry we had a tour of the development that lasted for about 30 minutes. Although still not completed with the tenants in place, we could definitely feel the vibe of what is to come.

This Thursday we will be back at the MAC downtown. Drew Stevens will be the speaker with a program on “Pandemic Pivot Principles for Sustainability, Legacy and Longevity.” I believe Drew will give us a great program on looking back at the last year and what is coming at us for the remaining of the year in business.

The Four-Way Test of the things we
think, say or do

1.  Is it the truth?

2.  Is it fair to all concerned?

3.   Will it build goodwill and better
friendships?

4.   Will it be beneficial to all
concerned?

From the Desk of Linda Puchbauer, District 6060
Rotary Foundation Chair

After several
interviews and reviewing many applications the Rotary District 6060 Foundation
Scholarship Committee has chosen first and second place Ambassadorial
Scholarship recipients.

First Place goes to Daniel Muncaster currently attending United States Military
Academy, West Point and will use the $25,000 Scholarship funds to attain his Master’s
Degree at Hertie School, Berlin German in Public Policy combining economics,
political science, philosophy, quantitative analysis, leadership and creating a
more humanitarian international community.

Second Place goes to Micah Scharff, currently attending the London Business
School, London, England pursuing a Master of Business Administration MBA with
concentrations in both Finance and Strategy and emphasis in economic and
community development. She is awarded a $10,000 Scholarship.

As we come out of
the COVID 19 this year, let’s try to work adding to our membership. If everyone
just asks one close friend or business associate, we will be able to grow in
2021.

Pass on information
about our club and about Rotary to your friends, send the Pepperbox to them,
Like and Share on Social Media. We really do have a great club, let’s not be
afraid to tell the WORLD.
