The Rotary golf league had another outstanding outing at the historic Glen Echo Country Club. Many thanks to our hosts Jim Gidcumb and Jay Ryan as well as the great service at the club. We had 19 golfers with all 19 staying for dinner.

Glen Echo was in great shape with hardly a blemish to be seen anywhere on the course. The temperature was in the mid to high 80s and the rain scheduled never hit us.

Medalist for the event was Blake Critzas with a splendid 76 on a fairly tough track. Glen Echo is an older course but the course is well manicured with fair green, thick rough and lots of trees.

Here are the winners of our events for the day

Most had plenty of time for fellowship following golf. About 7:15 we were ready for dinner which was preceded by a nice eloquent prayer by Jay “Msgr” Ryan. We had a wonderful BBQ bone in pork chop with scalloped potatoes and asparagus that was topped off with a beautiful molten chocolate cake. As usual after dinner the golf prizes were award between which was some great bantering occurred most of which cannot be repeated. A few stayed for a cocktail on the patio for a few stories and a beautiful view of the golf course and August skies

We are all looking forward to our next outing scheduled for Tuesday August 20th at Persimmon Woods Golf Club.  It is a beautiful course in Weldon Springs that everyone should try to make. Be sure to get your reservation into Dave Wicks and feel free to invite guest. It really is great fellowship and we play on some of the nicest golf courses in the St. Louis area.

Hope to see you then,

Kent Steinbrueck
