ESPECIALLY A ROTARIAN IN THE ROTARY CLUB OF ST. LOUIS

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A

HAPPY AND HEALTHY
THANKSGIVING WEEK
.

As we have consistently done with our Club and our Meetings, we will
continue to follow the guidelines set by the City of St. Louis and the Missouri Athletic Club (Our meeting site)

This Thursday is Thanksgiving so there will be no meeting so we can
spend time with our families in a safe environment.

Next Thursday, December 3rd
will be our 1st meeting date after Thanksgiving week. This meeting
will be held LIVE and
via ZOOM
. We continue this way until any changes by either the
CITY or the MAC.

Pass on information about our club and about Rotary to your friends

Ageless Quotes – Age 65 to 85 (continued from last week)

I’ve learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you.  But if you focus on your family, the
needs of others, your work, meeting new people, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find
 you.  Age 65

I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with kindness, I usually make the right decision.        Age  66

I’ve learned that even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one.  Age  82

I’ve learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love that
human touch, holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on
the back.  Age 85

Have you read your Rotary Magazine yet this month? The November issue is now out. Look for it each month in the mail.

MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A ROTARIAN IN THE ROTARY CLUB OF ST. LOUIS

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do

1.    Is it the truth?

2.    Is it fair to all concerned?

3.    Will it build goodwill and better
friendships?

4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Last Thursday our club had our annual Rotary Foundation Program. The program was led by our District Foundation Chair, Linda Puchbauer with our own Rick Tinucci giving us information on the Club level. Every year I attend one of these I learn a
little something about the Rotary Foundation and I hope you do also.

This coming Thursday is Thanksgiving Day and our next meeting will be live and on Zoom. The program will be AJ Medlock, Senior Archivist from the State Historical Society of Missouri.

The next meeting on December 3rd will be available both live and via Zoom.

Each week I will highlight something about Rotary that all Rotarians should know or be aware of.

THE DISTRICT CONFERENCE
Most Rotarians have never attended a Rotary district conference. They have not experienced one of the most enjoyable and rewarding privileges of Rotary membership.
A district conference is for all club members and their spouses, not just for club officers and committee members. The
purpose of a district conference is for fellowship, good fun, inspirational
speakers and discussion of matters which make one’s Rotary membership more
meaningful. Every person who attends a district conference finds that being a
Rotarian becomes even more rewarding because of the new experiences, insights
and acquaintances developed at the conference. Those who attend a conference
enjoy going back, year after year.

Every one of Rotary’s more than 500 districts
has a conference annually. These meetings are considered so important that the
Rotary International president selects a knowledgeable Rotarian as his personal
representative to attend and address each conference. The program always
includes several outstanding entertainment features, interesting discussions
and inspirational programs.

One of the unexpected benefits of attending a
district conference is the opportunity to become better acquainted with members
of one’s own club in an informal setting.
Lasting friendships grow from the fellowship
hours at the district conference.

If you missed last week’s meeting or any meeting you can watch the recording of the
zoom presentation by clicking on the link in the Pepperbox.

We are continuing to
work to make the zoom presentations better every week. Please let Joan know if
you have and suggestions and she will pass them on to the MAC who is handling
the production of the video.

ZOOM BROADCAST WILL
CONTINUE FOR AT LEAST UNTIL THE END OF JANUARY 2021 FOR THOSE THAT CANNOT MAKE THE
MEETINGS IN PERSON.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO WORK
AT BEING HEALTHY DURING THESE TRYING TIMES AND ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU THINK IS GOOD FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
