Subject: KAUFMAN FUND VETERAN WARMUP 2023 –
Hi Matt,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. The Kaufman Fund had our annual Veteran Warmup on November 10th at St Patrick Center. We are very grateful for the terrific support that Rotary Club 11 gives us which enables us to reach many Veterans who struggle with housing insecurity. The grant/sponsorship by Rotary is really impactful to accomplish our mission of supporting Veterans “at risk” in our community. Unfortunately, the need continues to grow. This year we gave out more things to more Veterans than ever before. Here are some of the totals and details we wanted to share with you to see where the funding goes. Also attached is a picture of fellow Rotarian Bob Zangas who volunteers every year at the event.
2023- Veterans served 217
St Patrick Center 166
Salvation Army 46
Veterans Community Project 5 (This is the tiny homes group)
Items given to each Veteran:
Overcoat, Sweat pants and sweatshirt, 3 pair socks, winter hat and gloves, toothpaste & toothbrush, soap, shampoo and conditioner plus a complete lunch the day of the event.
Also attached is the flyer used to promote the event with the Rotary logo.
We look forward to applying again next year and having Rotary make a difference in the lives of our Veterans.
