St Louis Civilians Rotary Club

St. Louis Civilians Rotary Club is a Satellite Club of St. Louis Rotary Club 11.

Here are some facts about their new 2021-2022 Chair, Raffi:

1. Joined Rotary in Santa Fe NM in 2016.

2. Served on the Santa Fe club board and in a district leadership role (district is made up of 60+ clubs).

3. I am particularly interested and involved with The Rotary Foundation, donating some annually and even having them in my estate plans.

4. Through my time at the Santa Fe Club and now also in our local Club 11, I have kept 100% attendance (that doesn’t mean I made every meeting though), which is the benchmark I use to remind myself that I made a commitment to service.

5. Community service is a priority for me, despite my time constraints: I run 2 businesses, serve leadership roles for 4 charities, and attend 2 school/professional education programs simultaneously.

We look forward to a promising year ahead under new leadership.

Raffi’s strategic initiatives as President (Chair) of St Louis Civilians 2021-2022:

1. Ensuring we all remember Rotary values so we know what makes our avenue of service special.

2. Selecting projects and prospective members based on our awareness of these values and what it means to each of us (I will ask each of you).

3. Participatory meetings— I will go around the room for input from everyone on certain things, so I hear from everyone, as I value your input for an integrated direction forward.

4. Formalized meeting structure so we stay clear and focused during the 30 minute formal meeting so we achieve our tasks.

5. Some kind of participation/attendance minimum to make sure our group is all equally contributing (that includes me) to the strong nucleus to build upon.

6. Finding ways to make sure we strengthen our web: with Rotaract, with Club 11, and with other Rotary Clubs in the region (including group outings that I will lead and support). This will not only help us shape our identity and make new friends, but it will helps us when we need human or financial resources for larger projects.

The club is in the process of discussing these initiatives; the next St Louis Civilians meeting is virtual, on August 10th at 5:30 pm.
