The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Every new member changes us a little bit. That person brings a new perspective, new experiences. We need to embrace this constant renewal. We will grow stronger as we learn from new members.”

As we have consistently done with our Club and our Meetings, we will continue to follow the guidelines set by the City of St. Louis and the Missouri Athletic Club (our meeting site) while having a safe environment.

As we come out of the COVID 19 this year, let’s try to work adding to our membership. If everyone just asks one close friend or business associate, we will be able to grow in 2021.

Pass on information about our club and about Rotary to your friends, send the Pepperbox to them, Like and Share on Social Media. We really do have a great club, let’s not be afraid to tell the WORLD.

MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A ROTARIAN IN THE ROTARY CLUB OF ST. LOUIS

We were back on track with a speaker in person at the Missouri Athletic Club. Bill Clevlen did a great job of entertaining and selling his book simultaneously. Bill for years had a segment on the Frank O Pinnion Show where he talked about things in this world that he found amusing. Now he has written a few books, the most recent being, Finding the American Dream. He spoke of how many that have come from very modest upbringings have found their dream and were able to live it out. Fascinating. BTW – down to 51 cards.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday February 4th. Dale Kreienkamp will come back again to Club 11 with his topic, Navigating Organizational Transitions. His company, Thriving Through Transitions, was created to help individuals and organizations successfully navigate difficult transitions, and not just get through the transition, but become better in the process. Dale’s professional background includes over 40+ years as a Human Resources Executive and Consultant, coaching and guiding leaders. His book, How Long, Oh Lord, How Long?, has been a must read for anyone in transition situation.

Each week I will highlight something about Rotary that all Rotarians should know or be aware of.

ROTARACT
After the success of Interact clubs for high school-age youth in the early 1960s, the RI board created Rotaract in 1968. The new organization was designed to promote responsible citizenship and leadership potential in clubs of young men and women, aged 18 to 30. The first Rotaract club was chartered by the Charlotte North Rotary Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Each club sponsors an annual project to promote high ethical standards in one’s business and professional life. Rotaract also provides opportunities leading to greater international understanding and goodwill. Rotaractors enjoy many social activities as well as programs to improve their community. A Rotaract club can exist only when continuously sponsored, guided and counseled by a Rotary club. The programs of Rotaract are built around the motto “Fellowship Through Service.” Club 11 currently sponsors 2 Rotaract Clubs, at Saint Louis University and Washington University.
