The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

As we have consistently done with our Club and our Meetings, we will continue to follow the guidelines set by the City of St. Louis and the Missouri Athletic Club (Our meeting site) while having a safe environment.

As we come out of the COVID 19 this year, let’s try to work adding to our membership. If everyone just asks one close friend or business associate, we will be able to grow in 2021.

Pass on information about our club and about Rotary to your friends, send the Pepperbox to them, Like and Share on Social Media. We really do have a great club, let’s not be afraid to tell the WORLD.

Our Thursday Meeting on January 21st our speaker was Ken Weintraub who had an outstanding program on the History of Sports Business in St. Louis. Unfortunately, the internet connection was not strong and the audible portion of the program was not clear of enough to continue after about 5 minutes. Our outstanding Program Committee has already begun the process of bringing Ken back later in the year, possibly July. Hopefully, we will be able to have Ken join us in person at the later date

Our next meeting will be on Thursday January 24th. Author Bill Clevlen will be the speaker with his program about his new book Finding the American Dream. Bill is a St. Louis based travel journalist and writes about many people with Missouri ties who achieved the American Dream. He interviewed over 75 celebrities and icons who dared to find their American Dream. The program should be captivating.

Each week I will highlight something about Rotary that all Rotarians should know or be aware of.

INTERACT
Interact, the Rotary youth program, was launched by the RI Board of Directors in 1962. The first Interact club was established by the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Florida. Interact clubs provide opportunities for boys and girls of secondary school age to work together in a world fellowship of service and international understanding. The term, Interact, is derived from “inter” for international, and “act” for action. Every Interact club must be sponsored and supervised by a Rotary club and must plan annual projects of service to its school, community and in the world.
Today there are over 7,200 Interact clubs with more than 155,000 members in 88 countries. “Interactors” develop skills in leadership and attain practical experience in conducting service projects, thereby learning the satisfaction that comes from serving others. A major goal of Interact is to provide opportunities for young people to create greater understanding and goodwill with youth throughout the world. (36)
