Ralph Decker Mon, May 4, 1:15 PM (9 days ago) to me St. Louis Rotary Club Bowling League Banquet – Celebrating 107 Seasons of Tradition What a night to remember! The St. Louis Rotary Club Bowling League wrapped up its remarkable 107th season with a lively and memorable banquet at Trattoria Toscana Restaurant. Not only did we dodge a storm, but we failed to let one bowler know we moved the banquet to Tuesday night. Sorry Kent! Founded in 1919, our league continues to stand as a testament to tradition, competition, and—most importantly—camaraderie. This year’s banquet captured that spirit perfectly, bringing together members for an evening filled with laughter, storytelling, and well-earned recognition. Special thanks to our banquet dinner chairman, Matt Weiss! The highlight of the night was celebrating our teams and individual bowlers who delivered outstanding performances throughout the season. Jack Windish led us into recognizing our league high scores and individual achievements that reflect the talent and dedication that define our league. Congratulations to our league champions Team Baker! Chad you did a great job of leading your team to victory. If you want a good chance to win next year, choose Ralph Zuke to be on your team. I believe Ralph has been on four of the past years league champions. Special mention to Team Weiss. I believe this may have been the first time in league history that a team won 3 quarters and not win the league championship. Congratulations to Team Weiss for a great year. The George Fleihman award is one of my favorites. The bowler who receives this award embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and team camaraderie. Wade Weistreich honored this year’s recipient of the George Fleihman Award to Chris Wilson. Congratulations Chris! Of course, the evening was about more than awards. It was a chance to enjoy great food, great company, and the kind of fellowship that has kept this league thriving for over a century. And speaking of thriving! I am proud to introduce David Cowell as your new President of the St. Louis Rotary Club Bowling League. David is a great Rotarian, a fantastic bowler, one who shows up and can count on for his leadership. Our league definitely needs more Cowbells! Congratulations David! As we close out Season 107, we do so with pride in our history and excitement for what lies ahead. Here’s to the next season—and continuing a tradition that only gets stronger with time. Strikes and Spares! -Ralph Decker
