Captin Matt Weiss - Wk 23 alleygations 2-23-26

Week 23 Alleygations 2/16/2026 | Captain Matt Weiss

Monday was the beginning of the 4th quarter of the thus far Matthew’s Rotary Bowling
League which also is the beginning of the Eastern Orthodox Lenten 40 days of fasting Period.
How do I know this, you ask? Because it says so right on my desk calendar AND in the League
Secretary Bowling Stats. The Matthew’s, Weiss with the 1st & 2nd quarter winners and Maddox
having taken the 3rd quarter, hold honors. The onliest thing I know about fasting is to never do so!
Onto the bowling.
Lanes 17&18 had a rematch of last week’s Position Night with the Cowbells, led by the
Cowbell himself’s 213, 201, 590 hdcp and Decker’s 198, 203, 209 610 high scratch series
of the night, 643 hdcp series. All this heavy weight bowling wasn’t enough to get by the Maddox’s as
Matthew’s bunch won 12-10.
Lanes 19&20 featured the Soifer’s quietly smothering the rambunctious Baker Boys 18-4.
85 year young Don Fuller rolled a 202, 671 hdcp. series leading the Soifer’s. Whaaaatt?
Lanes 21&22 also had a rematch of last week’s Position Night with the Werner’s battling the
Weiss Guys. Things started out as a “Here we go again” with Rachel Callier picking the 6-7-10
split in the first frame of the first game. Ten Pin Terry was not wishing for more of the same from last
week’s nine 10 pins in the 3rd game but lo and behold he started picking them in the 8th frame of
the 2nd game. Not Enough though, as the Weiss guys, led by Mike “Red Birds” Coleman 202, 199,
200, 601 scratch & high 736 hdcp series took this rematch 18-4 over last week’s thumping of 6-16.
Lanes 23&24 were dominated by the Fast Lanes ALL bowling 600 hdcp series. Jeanine
Conway 662, (where was the 242 game from Rolling for Rotary Sunday), Steinbrueck’s 632,
Carl’s 631, and Ali’s 618. The Coopers just had one of those nights losing 18-4.
Three teams sit in first place with 18 points each. Three teams are also battling for the
High HCP PIN TOTALS attempting to win that fourth spot in the Roll Off with the years most
HDCP Pins. Unless of course if one can win the fourth quarter.
Speaking of which Please note the following dates.
Position Night for Fourth Quarter is 4-13.
Sweepstakes & Roll Off on 4-20.
COLUMBIA BOWLING TRIP ON 4-21. Sign ups on the tables next week.
Annual BOWLING BANQUET 4-27 at Trattoria Toscano. Sign up sheets on the tables April 6th.
Ken Schuman won the 50/50 of $94 AND HE DID NOT THROW IN THE 50 Cents. Stop that!
