Alleygations

Week 11 – November 17, 2025

By Jonathan Soifer

There didn’t seem to be too much excitement last week – or at least anything that anyone wanted to admit to.  Of importance, Drew Baebler won the 50-50.

In Lanes 23 & 24, Team Cowell took on Team Lane. In Game 1, Rick Tinucci had two turkeys in game 1 for a 196 scratch game.  That lead to an incredible handicap series of 644 for Rick.  Unfortunately for Rick, Carl Lane had an even better night, and had a 651 handicap series. Despite Carl’s win over Rick, Team Cowell took 14 points.

In Lanes 21 and 22, it was family feud night, or if you prefer, the War of the Rosie, as Team Cooper took on Team Maddox.  They had a quick night, with each team having only three bowlers. Team Cooper had a great night – with all three bowlers bowling well over average, and took 21 points. The sole point Team Maddox got was the split of the two blinds. The big loss was good news, at least for Matt, because he was relying on Lily for a ride home.

In Lanes 19 and 20, Team Baker and Team Werner went up against each other.  Mike Reagan got his first 200 (202 in Game 2).  Congratulations Mike! Tom Keeline was also on fire for Team Warner with a 640 handicap series.  But Ralph Zuke and Don Lorenz had even better nights – with 672 and 703 handicap games, respectively.  Don had a 215 scratch in Game 3.  Baker and Warner split the points 14/8.

Down on Lanes 17 and 18, the Weiss Guys beat the pants off team Soifer and took 16 points.  Mike Coleman bowled a 205 in Game 3, and Wade, Jack, and Tom had handicap series of 651, 642, and 653, respectively.  Fortunately for Team Soifer, Bill (the Pipes) Piper had a good night, winning the only match up for Team Soifer.

Team Weiss’s 16 points shot them well into first place, with a 20 point lead over second place Team Soifer.  First place was nice for the two week we had it.

Good luck this week.  Everyone get lots of strikes and spares.  And have a great Thanksgiving.
