St. Louis Rotary 107th Bowling Alleygations ~ Week 6 | October 13, 2025 at Olivette Lanes

Week 6 Alleygations ~ October 13, 2025 107th Season
Week 6 was another loud and fun time at the (not Carl) lanes! It started off with matching shirts worn by the Baeblers. Dee looked a lot better in hers than Drew did according to a very select poll. The shirts obviously helped as the Soifer team won 14 points against the Baker team. Ralph Z and Maddie Z had handicap series of 641 and 632 to lead the Baker team. Jon Soifer lost a close match to Ralph with a 639.
Cowell won 12 points against the Maddox team. This was interesting since Cowell won the first two games but ended up losing overall total and two of the individual matches. That’s a good lesson to never ever give up! Robert was a sub for Maddox and had a 640 handicap series to lead the team. The hottest of the hot was Vic from the Cowell team. He started off the night with 4 strikes in a row, a double in game 3 and ended up with a 648 to lead both teams! Rose told this writer that she showed Vic her bare feet during warm ups and that must have gotten him going….enough said about that.
Lane earned 14 points from the Cooper team with only 3 bowlers. Coach led both teams with a 618 handicap series with Rose a close second at 614. The overall pin total was only a 2 point spread in Lanes favor. It doesn’t get much closer than that.
Speaking of close…well that doesn’t apply to the Weiss and Werner match. Weiss took 20 points from the Werner team ugh! The “wise” guys were led by Mike Coleman’s 693 handicap series, Wade’s 648 and Matt’s 639. Good bowling you knuckleheads!
Things seen and heard around the lanes:
– Jon Soifer won the largest 50/50 in our history – $100. It was so generous of him to donate it all back to the league. NOT!!
– Matt “the master” Weiss picked up a 3, 6, 7, 10 split and a 1, 3, 7, 9 split. Two things have to occur for this to happen….a really bad first ball and then a really good second ball. He did not miss many spares during the entire night – he is the master. Way to go Matt!
– Bill “pipes” Piper was heard to say, “sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t”. Not exactly sure what he was referring to but let’s assume it was his bowling style.
– Joan getting her running in after she gets a strike or spare. It’s referred to as aerobic bowling for those that want to try it.
Thanks for reading!
Strikes and more strikes,
Terry
