Tuesday, April 22nd we had a total of 19 bowlers hop on a chartered bus for Columbia, MO for our annual bowling competition against the Kansas City Rotary Club #13 Bowling League. A tradition unlike any other.
It was another great time of friendly Rotary Club competition. We had lunch at Flat Branch Brewing and dinner at The Heidelberg Restaurant in downtown Columbia, MO.
The bus ride was another classic of $1 dollar liars poker, bloody Mary’s chased by our good friend, Mick Ultra, and great party music thanks to Matthew Maddox and Kayla Jones!
We ended up with 19 of our bowlers against 18 of there bowlers. After 18 intense match play games, we were tied with St. Louis 9 wins to Kansas City 9 wins. We could have won 10 games, but lost our final match by 9 pins. Which gave Kansas City their 9th match play win.
Tie breakers goes to total pins with handicap. The difference was 136 pins.
Kansas City won the trophy. The current trophy began in 1966. The total count since 1966 is Kansas City with 30 wins, St. Louis with 28 wins, and Covid with 2.
Let’s give a big hand to our Columbia, MO St. Louis Rotary Club Bowling Team!
