While talking with new member Matthew Maddox a few days ago, the subject of Skyway Farms and St Louis Rotary came up. Matthew remembers Skyway Farm and some of our Rotary Club 11 connection with it. He googled Skyway Farms while we on our cell phones talking about it :

He found that Skyway Farms is back in the Marx Family now and it has been transformed into “Skyway All Event Venue”! There’s a website: https://skyway-all-event-venue-llc.ueniweb.com/#bob AND a Facebook page, “Skyway All Event Venue”: https://www.facebook.com/pg/Skyway-All-Event-Venue-100470084634454/community/?ref=page_internal.

The Lincoln County News featured an article about it on Sep 12, 2019: Marx’s family retreat transformed to Skyway All Event Venue. In the article, the Marx granddaughter Gretchen shares memories on the farm. The article says that “the most success on the property was the Rotary Club who invested time and money in the farm. In 1995 they built the dining hall and in 1997 three cabins were constructed for overnight campers. This nonprofit group ran well organized camps for many years.

Gretchen says “we are very appreciative of the Rotary Club of St. Louis for their wonderful efforts.”

Wouldn’t it be fitting to have a Rotary Club 11 “reunion” or remembrance dinner or outing at Skyway All Event Venue in the future to celebrate all our club accomplished there and all the lives touched and changed?

Thank you Matthew Maddox for finding this information for us. It’s good to remember the past and celebrate the future!
