Rotary Golf League Report
Bogey Hills Country Club – September 12, 2023

The Rotary Golf League had an outing at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles County on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Bogey Hill member Susie Burkhardt, wife of the late Earl Burkhardt, was on hand to greet our group. Earl was a long time member of the St. Louis Rotary Club and the Rotary Golf League. We greatly miss Earl.

Our group was able to enjoy Bogey Hills championship course on a beautiful day. Drinks on the veranda were followed by a superb filet dinner. Prior to our awards presentation, the group paused for a moment of silence in memory of all of those lost on 9/11 and in service to our great country. This was truly a great afternoon and evening.

Prize winners for the day:

Long Drive – Wade Weistreich (Junior Division); Steve Lafara (Senior Division)

Closest to the Pin – Ryan Whittington (1st) (He made the 31 inch putt), Steve Lafara (2nd), Jim Gidcumb (3rd)

Championship Flight – Flip Cady (1st) (firing a 76 – low round of the day), Mike Regan (2nd), Steve Lafara (3rd)

A Flight – Earl Poe (1st), Ryan Whittington (2nd), Matt Weiss (3rd)

B Flight – James Webster (Net score of 69 – low net of the day) (1st), Bob Garagiola (2nd), Wade Weistreich (3rd)

Our next league outing is on Tuesday, September 19th at Greenbriar Hills Country Club. The last event of the season is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd at Sunset Country Club. The dinner at Sunset CC will be followed by our annual award ceremony. Please plan to attend.
