Rotary Golf League Report
Meadowbrook Country Club- September 6, 2023

It was a spectacular day as 22 Rotary Golf League members descended on Meadowbrook Country Club on September 6th. With high temperatures barely in the 80’s, and humidity considerably lower than the scores being posted, there was a hint of Fall in the air.
We were graciously hosted for this event by former Club 11 member John Gazzoli. Thank you John!
Despite the recent near drought, Meadowbrook was in excellent condition, especially the tricky greens, which had just recently been lubricated.
Nevertheless, multiple stellar performances were posted, to wit:

2nd place: Mike Regan-12’-2”
3rd place: Wade Weistreich-13’-7”

Longest drive 67 and under: Dan Scott
Longest drive 68 and over: Steve LaFara

In First place, posting a score of 117, earning them $15 each and a quite a few raised eyebrows, the team of Critzas/Kocher/Driver/Weistreich (blind draw)

Second place, carding a 124, was the team of LaFara/Scott/Westreich/Zangas (blind draw). Net worth of the guys in this group increased by $10 tonight.

In Third place, at 125 and narrowly missing a scorecard playoff with the Bronze medalists, was the team of Werner/McNutt/Cady/Schuman. These guys pocketed five dollars each.

After dinner, the handicap committee retired to the veranda for post-dinner drinks, cigars, and a critique of the play that day.
Our next outing will be at Bogey Hills on September 12th.
Keep it in the fairway!
