Huntington joined the Zoo’s development staff in 2000 and was promoted to Director of Development in 2005. He has played a leadership role in several capital improvement projects, including the Saint Louis Zoo 2004: Gateway to the Animal World Campaign and The Living Promise Campaign.

A historian by training, Huntington has a MS in historic preservation and a BS in American history from Ball State University. Before coming to the Zoo, he worked for a number of museums and historic preservation organizations.

Huntington became a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) in 2004 and is involved in a number of local non-profit organizations. He was named as one of “40 Under 40” business leaders by the St. Louis Business Journal in January 2000 and participated in FOCUS St. Louis’ Leadership St. Louis program.

In 2014, he was named Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the St. Louis Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. 

Where to Park at the Zoo

Rotarians can park for Free at the Zoo’s Penguin lot off of Oakland Avenue just west of Hampton and take the Missouri Athletic Club shuttle from the Penguin lot and it will drop you off near the South Entrance to the zoo. 

The free parking and shuttle service will start at 11:00am and run to 3:00pm

Also shown on the map is the location of River Camp where our meeting is located. 

Rotarians should start to arrive around 11:30 am or so and pick up their pre ordered box lunch at the River Camp banquet area. 

We will have a 20 minute presentation at 12:30pm with some Q & A for Jeff Huntington of the St. Louis Zoo.  Rotarians can check out the zoo and utilize the free shuttle service until 3:00pm.
