Local Rotarian gives back to the community & the world

St. Louis, MO— 3/1/2022 Rotarian Ralph Zuke rides from St. Louis to the Rotary International Convention in Houston, TX to support Rotary’s mission of eradicating polio. The ride will start on May 3rd, 2022 and end the day before the conference June 3rd, 2022. This ride will be a little over 1000 miles long, though Ralph is no stranger to long bike rides.  Ralph Zuke earned international notoriety from Rotarians across the globe when he rode his Barcalounger Rickshaw from Fairview Heights, IL to Toronto, Canada for the 2018 Rotary International Convention. Ralph raised just under $24,000 to help fight polio across the world. With the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation doing a 2-to-1 match his final total became almost $72,000. The ride was 703 miles and took 22 days to complete. Ralph raised the money through sponsorships as well as giving people rides in the Barcalounger Rickshaw that was attached to his bike. Ralph will be making a similar trip to Houston for the 2022 Rotary International Convention. His focus for this event is to raise money & awareness for the fight against polio.

As a current member of the Rotary Club of St Louis’ Civilians Satellite Club, Ralph and his club do many local service products to help support the local community. The club will be asking for sponsorships for the event, as well as donations.
