Hesley Challenge Grant for Water Project UPDATE: $9850

This year, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Meycauayan, Philippines, Club 11 is sponsoring a clean water and Hygiene project.  This $40,000 project will provide clean drinking water for over 2000 students in five elementary schools.  Phil and Carole Hesley have donated $10,000 and are challenging Club 11 Rotarians to match their donation.   Rotary International will then match our $20,000 to fulfill the total amount needed.   The project consists of drilling a deep well and installing a pump and elevated tank to supply drinking stations with potable water.  In addition, the project will install wash stations for proper hygiene.

As an incentive to participate, Club 11 will add an equal number of matching points to any member donating between $100 and $500 to his/her Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) account.  Consider: with a $500 donation, you or your designate can become a Paul Harris Fellow.   So far we have received $9,850 in donations.

This worthwhile project provides much needed clean drinking water for children in need.   I am hoping we can count on your support.    Please make your check payable to The Rotary Foundation and send them to the Rotary Office at 405 Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO  63102.
